Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Jessica sees the therapeutic relationship as a support that can help you become more fully yourself. Personal difficulties, struggles and transitions present opportunities to uncover more about yourself, to heal and to grow.
Jessica’s practice is in humanistic and integrative psychotherapy. Her approach therefore puts the client-therapist relationship as central to the process; it is the vehicle in and through which change and healing happen. Her training also included Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Process Oriented Psychotherapy, so she can tailor her approach to the individual needs of each person she works with. She has experience of brief, solution-focused therapy too, which includes elements of CBT.
Jessica offers a safe, supportive, accepting and, when needed, challenging space. She respects each person’s unique experience, their potential for growth and the responsibility they have for themselves. She supports people in connecting to their own inner wisdom and creativity to move in the best way for them.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Jessica has worked with adults in a variety of settings across Dublin who have presented with a wide range of issues including stress and anxiety, depression, trauma, anger and relationship issues. She also works in a corporate environment, providing 1:1 support and facilitating workshops. She is interested in creative ways of giving form to feelings, which in her experience results in more clarity, insight and choice. She has a particular interest in including awareness of the body in sessions to help integrate the past with the present.
Outside of individual sessions she facilitates dance and movement group workshops in which participants are invited to explore their inner landscape and get in touch with hidden aspects of themselves.
Languages – Jessica holds a first class B.A. degree in French and German and can work in these languages.
