She believes in the unlimited potential that exists in all of us for change and growth in the face of adversity incorporating all aspects of a person’s being – body, mind, spirit, and soul.
Jennie draws from many theories and techniques including person centred, existential, psychodynamic, psychosynthesis and body psychotherapy to offer clients a unique experience that best suits their individual needs.
Jennie offers clients a compassionate, empathic, safe, non-judgemental, confidential and caring environment in which they can explore any issues they have with their mental and emotional health and well-being.
Counselling Experience and Area of Interest
Jennie has worked as a psychotherapist in several not-for-profit organisations in Ireland including ISPCC and Let’s Get talking in Galway and more recently has moved into private practice.
Jennie has worked with clients on a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, loss and bereavement, relationship and family issues, self-esteem, trauma, personal growth, and existential life issues.
Jennie has a particular interest in supporting bereaved parents of perinatal loss. Being a bereaved parent herself she has a unique and personal understanding of this type of loss which she brings to her work with grieving parents.
Another specific area Jennie has trained in and brings to her client work is the integration of nature with psychotherapy through the lens of green care, ecotherapy and outdoor therapy.
