Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Approach
Aoife works as a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist. She uses a varied approach in facilitating her clients’ exploration of their emotions and challenges. Providing a secure base which enables a relationship founded in trust, where all feelings and experiences are welcome. She believes this allows the healing and sacred process of psychotherapy to unfold.
A psychodynamic approach informs Aoife in accompanying her clients’ exploration of the unconscious, with the intention of helping them to better understand their current emotional state and reactions. The process of integration reduces inner conflict and distress, moving us towards greater wholeness. Aoife facilitates this process using ‘parts work’(exploring the various and often conflicting parts within us), bringing clients into a more compassionate and embodied relationship with themselves.
By facilitating the identification and exploration of clients’ needs – both conscious and unconscious – a process of personal empowerment is cultivated. This allows clients to experience more satisfaction and fulfilment in their lives.
